I get the invitation every morning when I wake up to actually live a life of completely engagement, a life of whimsy, a life where love does. It doesn’t come in an envelope. It’s ushered in by a sunrise, the sound of a bird, or the smell of coffee drifting lazily from the kitchen. It’s the invitation to actually live, to fully participate in this amazing life for one more day. Nobody turns down an invitation to the White House, but i’ve seen plenty of people turn down an invitation to fully live.”

Yeah. I feel the same way you do. Wow.

The past few weeks of my life have been crazy. I came home from Haiti and jumped right into a bunch of craziness. My schedule has completely changed, my sphere of influence has shifted, and I’m learning to go with the flow. Because you see, I don’t like change. I don’t “do” change. I would love to live my life sticking to my normal schedule and knowing what is going to come day after day. But reality is, that’s just not reality.

If I’ve learned anything the past few weeks, it’s to embrace life. You see, the culture we live in teaches us to hurry. It teaches us to just “get by”. It teaches us that today doesn’t matter. Truth is, we were created to not just “get by”. We weren’t created to hurry. By us hurrying our way through life, we’re actually completely missing out on the things God created us for.

He created us to embrace where we are. To embrace the sunrise, the early mornings, the loud kiddos. To embrace the good days and the bad. He created us to live. To fully, abundantly live.

I’m reading a book right now that is wrecking, blessing, and changing me in a way I could never explain. It’s called Love Does. and it teaches just that… that Love does.

I’ll be blogging a lot more about this book and about what God is teaching me, but for now I just want to encourage you… Embrace where you are. Embrace this crazy, beautiful thing called life.
